Trout Bite in Big Bear Ca

The weather has settled into the Spring mode now, and the rainbow trout action has been good this week with limits of rainbows for both trollers and bait anglers fishing from shore. Department of Fish and Game plant is set for this week.

Shore fishing: The top areas are still along the north shore from Stanfield to Windy Point, and a lot of fish are still stacked up where water is flowing into the lake.

Trollers: mostly working three to four colors of leadcore and Needlefish or Thomas Buoyants with the best action in the east end. Water temperature has been uniform at 47 degrees. The bass bite has been improving with both smallmouth and largemouth showing in fair numbers around docks, rocky areas, and other shoreline structures.
